Tom Sawyer


The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.


Chapters 1 and 2

It was 1844. Tom was eleven years old. He lived in St Petersburg, Missouri. St Petersburg was a town on the Mississippi River, in North America. Tom’s parents were dead. He lived with his father’s sister, Aunt Polly. Tom was not clean and tidy. He did not help Aunt Polly with the housework. He often behaved badly. But Aunt Polly loved him very much. Aunt Polly loved Tom but she worried about him too. It was Saturday morning. There was no school today. But Tom had to work. He had to paint the fence. But he didn't want to do it, because he wanted to go fishing and swimming. Ben wanted to paint the fence in exchange of Tom's apple.


Chapter 3: The Graveyard

Tom and Huck think there were ghosts in the graveyard and they went there. A few minutes later, they heard 3 ghosts that moved quietly in the graveyard. But they weren’t ghosts. They were humans! One of them was Muff Potter. And there were Injun Joe and Dr Robinson too. They were here because they pulled Hoss William’s body out of the ground, because Dr. Robinson cuts bodies and studies them. After that, Dr. Robinson and Muff Potter started fighting. A few minutes later Injun Joe killed Robinson with a knife. Injun Joe blamed Muff Potter that he killed him.

Huck and Tom saw everything!!!


Chapter 4: Jackson’s Island

The next day everyone knew about poor Dr. Robinson. The sheriff found Muff Potter’s knife near the body of the doctor. He put Muff in St. Petersburg’s small jail!

Tom and his friends (Huck and Joe9 went to Jackson island to explore it.

In St. Petersburg the boy’s family think that they dead. When they arrived a lot of people smiled.

Chapter 5:

Some weeks later it was time for Muff Potter’s trial. The people say he was killer but it’s wasn’t true. Tom and Huck were to help. He was worried about the trial. Muff looked old, tired and unhappy. During the trial there were many questions and answers. All the answers were against old Muff. Tom told his story and the people of St Petersburg listened to him. They were very surprised. Tom suddenly heard a very loud noise. Injun Joe jumped out of the window and disappeared! Tom became the hero of St Petersburg. He saved Muff Potter’s life. Tom’s days were very happy but his nights were not. The days passed and no one could find Injun Joe.

Chapter 6:

Every young boy wants to find a treasure. They went to the haunted house. I t was and old, lonely place. They were both afraid of this strange place. Everything was old and broken. No one lived there. But there was no treasure and there were no ghosts. The two men sat on the floor. The small, dirty man moved a big stone in the fireplace and pulled out a bag. He took some money from the bag. Injun Joe started digging near the fireplace with his knife. There was a real treasure downstairs! Six hundred dollars was a wonderful treasure for two young boys! When it was dark outside the two men took the silver and gold away. Tom and Huck were not following them because they were afraid of Injun Joe. But they wanted to found the cross.

Chapter 7:

It was Becky Thatcher’s birthday on Saturday. On Saturday morning a big boat took Becky, Tom and their friends down the river. The children went to visit McDougal’s Cave. Tom and Becky wanted to find a new tunnel. They walked and soon they were alone. In the evening the other children returned to the boat. They laughed and talked, but they were very tired. They weren't seeing, Tom and Becky were not there. Huck heard this and wanted to run away. Huck was running quickly to Welsh’s house. They ran to the Widow’s house. Tom and Becky were lost in McDougal’s Cave. They did not know what to do. They were both afraid. Tom and Becky entered a big room with a lot of black bats. It was terrible. They continued walking. They were tired and slept. Tom heard a noise and went to see what happened.

Chapter 8:

Tom went into the dark tunnel. He saw a light and heard a noise. Then he saw a man. I was Injun Joe, he went away quickly. Tom returned to Becky. Many people from the village went to the cave and looked for them. They took a small boat and went down the Mississippi River to Mc Dougal’s Came. Tom and Huck went into the cave. They were careful and used the long string to help them. Tom looked the cross on the wall of the cave. They dug and finally they found a treasure box! They followed the long string and were soon out of the cave. The two boys took their treasure to Aunt Polly’s house. They looked at all the silver and gold coins. There were 12,000$. It was a great story and the people listened with their eyes wide open. Now Tom and Huck were rich and famous in St Petersburg!!!!
